Props

Furthermore, I helped prepare the props and costumes. I was able to make a list of everything we needed to bring to help portray our characters correctly. Props are crucial in the storytelling. Props complement and motivate the character, helping the actor feel more 'the part', setting the scene, and helps identify a particular time and place. The setting of my film is in 2024 and the characters are typical high school girls going out to a party. To show this I want to purposefully make the room a mess and have clothes/makeup lying everywhere. Highschool girls are usually messy when getting ready which gives the film an accurate/ realistic portrayal. One of the main props we made was our missing person poster. I helped Izzy create this on Canva and I printed it out. This will be used in our last scene to draw suspense and give a glimpse of what the premise of the movie will be about. Without this we would leave the viewers with confusion, not knowing what happens next in the film.

The uber driver needs to be portrayed as mysterious and scary. I'm in charge of bringing the props for the uber. This includes an axe, chainsaw, gloves, and rope. These will give the audience a sense of danger coming from the uber driver and anticipation/suspense about what will happen next. These props will be shown in short clips cutting back and forth between the girls getting ready. The allows a change in the moods between each clip and portrays the mood for the movie, suspenseful and eery.

These are clips taken from the raw footage to show how we placed props strategically to help portray the setting.
