Establishing Group Members

The first step in my AICE project was to establish group members. During the midterm, Luci, Izzy, and I recognized how well we collaborated, so we decided to continue working together for the final project. Our group works efficiently together, with each member making valuable contributions. However, I did realize that we needed another person to help film so all of us could be in frame and have a dedicated antagonist (the uber driver). We allowed Ryne to join our group after careful consideration and we believe he will be the perfect addition.

We all sat down and discussed who everyone's roles are going to be during the project. This will help ensure that everything will be organized, and the work will be distributed evenly. Everyone will be taking the role as an actor but there are more specific roles due to everyone's different capabilities. Luci decided to take the role as a set designer and planner as she has an eye for interior design. She must coordinate the scenery with the elements of productions such as costumes, lights, sounds and actors. The effect of these elements should all be integrated. The clothing and the props need to be strategically placed as the setting of the clip is in a teenage girl's room. Luci is very organized, which is why she will also be the planner. She likes taking notes and will make sure we have everything the day of filming. Izzy has the role of a partial editor, uploading and organizing files, and being a cinematographer. She is good with technology which is why we assigned her to help with editing. Ryne is taking the role as the main cinematographer as he is good at filming cameras and knows the different camera shots and angles. He will manage the shot setup and check aspects such as composition and lighting.

I will be taking the role as main film editor and planner. I'm good with technology and have experience using adobe premiere pro. I'm able to transform the raw footage into film footage with a logical sequence. The film editor selects, edits, and combines the clips into scenes using various editing techniques. An effective editor must be thorough, attentive to detail, knowledgeable about media production, collaborative, and proactive. I was able to demonstrate these qualities through our successful midterm project. Moving forward I plan to continue doing this with help from my team member Izzy. Additionally, Luci and I are proactively planning and organizing pre-production efforts to ensure we are fully prepared before filming begins.
