CCR Reflection: News, interview, powerpoint

News segment-

To create the news segment for CCR Question #1 I had to do a lot of research and planning. I wanted it to be like a real news segment in the beginning and talk about what's happening in today's society. I was able to draw this back to the movie due to it concerning riots about ubers and societal concerns for girls.

For the greenscreen I had to ask my teacher to use it hers. She controls our school news so she has access to many tools for filming. I scheduled a day and came in when she didn't have a class, which worked out perfectly due to me having media studies that period.

When editing, I ran into a few problems. At first I couldn't figure out how to add a picture onto the green screen. I used multiple platforms and even paid for a subscription for an app. Eventually I was able to figure it out by watching YouTube videos. Next I editied the movie on iMovie and Capcut. I used iMovie to add the photos/pop ups into the video. I did this to make it more engaging and entertaining for the audience. I never used iMovie before so again I had to watch YouTube videos on how to work it. I also used caput so I can add a news intro and outro to the video. This made it more realistic and creative. Eventually, I was able to put everything together and post it on YouTube. This process was long but it turned out great in the end.

Interview-

To answer CCR Question 3 I did an interview. I thought doing this would be a good way to get all points across and answer everything throughly. To film my interview it was fairly easy. I worked on my script for a couple days and had my friend Luci come to my house to help ask me questions. To make it creative I wanted to film it in my chicken coop and have it be farmed themed. Luci dressed up as a cow and I wore a cowboy hat and boots. I wanted my film to have some humor in it so in the beginning before I got in frame Luci made it seem like she was interviewing the chicken she was holding. This helps engage the audience and adds character to the video.

Powerpoint-

To answer CCR Question #2 I wanted to do a powerpoint. Since I need multiple media formats I wanted to do a powerpoint because I am able to add pictures, text, and have recording of me talking through everything. This makes it engaging and unique.

This was supposed to be an easy process however the platform stopped working causing my voice to be robotic. One day it was working perfectly fine then the next the microphone wouldn't work at all. I tried so many times to fix it like restarting my computer and phone but it would not go back to normal. Eventually I was able to figure out that if I don't record with my camera on (just a voice recording) then it would go back to normal. I only had to do a voice recording for the first 3 slides while for the rest of the presentation the sound was perfectly fine with the camera on. I didn't want to redo every recording, and I felt it was much better with a video. This process was very annoying and took me multiple days to figure out. My sound still isn't perfect for some of the recordings but it is better than nothing. Next time I will defiantly make sure all audio works before recording.
